NPLS Staff Attorneys Megan Moore and Helene Hess will present a CLE describing the process for obtaining a legal name change in Pennsylvania. The CLE will also focus on challenges faced by unhoused clients in obtaining and changing identity documents, which can present a barrier to employment and finding housing.

Megan M. Moore, Esq.—Staff Attorney—NPLS Bethlehem Office
Megan Moore is a Staff Attorney at North Penn Legal Services in Bethlehem, PA. At NPLS, Megan has worked with low-income clients in Northampton and Lehigh Counties on matters ranging from housing and debt collection to family law and legal name changes. Megan has worked on a homelessness advocacy project to help identify and address the needs of unhoused persons in the community. Megan is a graduate of Iowa State University and Penn State Dickinson Law where she researched name changes through her work at the Community Law Clinic.

Helene Hess, Esq.—Staff Attorney—NPLS Bethlehem Office
Helene Hess is a Staff Attorney at North Penn Legal Services in Bethlehem, PA, where she primarily practices in housing law. She provides legal advice and representation to low-income individuals in the Lehigh and Northampton counties. She enjoys participating in community outreach events and providing educational information to help individuals better understand their rights and available resources. Helene is a graduate of Widener Commonwealth Law School, where she interned at the Central Pennsylvania Law Clinic.
