NPLS Provides free civil legal services to low income families in Northeast Pennsylvania. We determine your eligibility based on:
- the specifics of your case or legal needs,
- your household income, and
- where you live (not all services are available in all counties).

We are accepting new applications by phone Monday-Thursday from 9 - 11:30 a.m. or 1:30 - 4 p.m. by calling 877-953-4250 (no Friday intake). You can also apply online anytime by clicking the link below. We ask you to understand that response times may be delayed.
HOLIDAY UPDATE: Please note that our Intake Department will be closed Friday, December 23, 2022 through Monday, January 2, 2023. Normal Intake will resume on Tuesday, January 3. Happy Holidays!
FRAUD ALERT: NPLS services are free; we do not charge any fees or expenses to our clients. If you are contacted by email, mail or phone by anyone claiming to be from NPLS asking for a “retainer fee” or any other fee or bill, please ignore it and let us know.

In order to qualify for free legal services, your household income must meet requirements based on Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. See our "Do I Qualify" page for more info.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept every case.
We are not responsible if your application is not received due to server or Internet problems. We are not responsible if you miss a deadline while you are waiting for us to determine eligibility.
