The Lycoming County Pro Bono Awards were held on January 12, 2026. The annual dinner, hosted by the Lycoming Law Association, recognized several NPLS volunteers’ commitment to representing underserved individuals and communities.

The Lycoming Law Association handed out three different awards that commend the pro bono work done by attorneys within the past year.

The Thomas Wood, Jr. Equal Access to Justice Award was presented to NPLS volunteer Lauren Appolonia Roux, esq. for going above and beyond to donate her time, knowledge, and skills to provide pro bono representation to low-income people in Lycoming County.

Since she began practicing in Lycoming County in 2024, Lauren has volunteered to take 16 pro bono Protection from Abuse cases from NPLS. She also joined the Young Lawyers Division of the Lycoming Law Association and assisted in coordinating their annual blanket drive.

“We are grateful to Lauren for stepping forward, reaching out, and embracing cases that are fraught with hostile opposing parties, evidence that is often very disturbing, and emergency timeframes that are incredibly challenging,” John Pietrovito, Esq., Chair of the Legal Services to the Indigent Committee of the Lycoming Law Association, said during the event. “We are honored to recognize her service, and we are very fortunate to count her as one of the members of the bar in Lycoming County.”

Additionally, The Outstanding Law Firm Achievement Award, given to firms with a 100% participation in the Lycoming County Pro Bono Referral Program, was presented to Protasio & Jasper, P.C. and Rieders, Travis, Dohrmann, Mowrey, Humphrey & Waters.

Finally, The Fair Share Award was given to all attorneys in Lycoming County who took three Protection from Abuse cases or performed nine hours of pro bono work through NPLS. NPLS wants to extend its deepest thanks and congratulations to the recipients of this award (listed below) for their commitment to equal justice for the poor.
