On August 12, NPLS celebrated the retirement of Executive Director Lori A. Molloy, Esq. The event concluded a day of staff training and CLEs held at the Event Center at Blue in Bethlehem.

Surrounded by staff, family, and friends, Lori was recognized for 30 years of service, which just happened to have the anniversary on that very day!

Remarks were given by NPLS Deputy Director for Operations, Tim Smith, Esq., followed by the presentation of a plaque for her service by NPLS Board President Robert Cronin, Esq. and Board Member Amy Kruzel, Esq. She was also presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from Legal Services Corporation (LSC), along with a letter from LSC’s President Ronald Flagg, which said, in part:

“Over the course of your career, you have served your community and our collective legal services mission in nearly every capacity – from staff attorney and managing attorney to Director of Legal Advocacy and, ultimately, Executive Director. That progression reflects not only your skill as an advocate and leader, but also a remarkable, sustained commitment to ensuring that people facing difficult circumstances have somewhere to turn for legal help.”

“For three decades, you have been part of a community of professionals working to make our nation’s promise of equal justice more meaningful for people who otherwise might face the civil justice system alone. The colleagues you have led and mentored, the communities you have served, and the clients whose lives have been changed by North Penn Legal Services are all part of the legacy you leave.”

Lori will remain at NPLS through the transition to a new Executive Director.
