NPLS CLE: Attacking Tax Sales Under the Real Estate Tax Sale Law

Tuesday, January 25, 2022
1:30 pm3:30 pm

Homeowners are often threatened with losing their homes due to mistakes, oversight, or economic hardship in paying their local property taxes. We will discuss the various types of sales for delinquent taxes authorized by the Real Estate Tax Sale Law, including upset sales and judicial or “free and clear” sales, and the various requirements that local tax claim bureaus must meet—and often do not—in order for those sales to withstand a legal challenge. We will cover the basics as well as recent developments in case law, so participants do not need any prior knowledge, but even seasoned advocates will come away with something new.

This is a 2-credit Substantive CLE.
